turbo swap questions
Just let me say that i did search. Anyway, i was thinking about doing the turbo swap into my vert and found some threads that were helpful but they left some questions unanswered. I know that if i swap the turbo engine in then the na tranny wont be able to handle the extra power without the t2 clutch and pressure plate, correct? So if i swapped in the engine and the clutch and pressure plate would the na tranny be able to handle the extra power as if it were just the regular na engine. Also if the na tranny cant handle the extra power then what about the rest of the drivetrain? One last question, if i put the t2 engine in could i keep the na exhaust or would i have to go with the t2 exhaust.

Please read the FAQ for FC before posting. Your questions are covered there as well as in countless posts and rotary resurrections website.
You would not be able to use a Turbo clutch and fly wheel with a non turbo tranny. They are different sizes. A turbo flywheel requires a Turbo clutch and a Turbo tranny.
The entire non turbo drive line (tranny/rear end/halfshafts/drive shaft)maxes out at around 175 FT/lbs. So they may last for a week or a hour or a year, depending on how you drive.
as far as exhaust, the stock cat back is the same other than mufflers with the non turbo and convertible mufflers restricting more sound than the Turbo ones.
Again all of this is covered in countless other posts and websites... so...thread closed.
