As I right in assuming this is a S4 chassis with a S5 alt wired in?

If this is an S5 alternator, see the FAQ: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...72#post5131072

The wire running to the R terminal on the S4 alternator gets cut and is unused. A new wire then needs to be run from the EGI fuse to the new S terminal on the S5 alternator. The S5 gets constant 12V power, while the S4 alternator requires switched 12V power. The L terminal and B post remain unchanged.
