Turbo S5 intake manifolds onto Turbo S4

S5 intake manifolds onto S4

I'm sure this has been posted before, but the forum won't let me search for S4 or S5. Anyway I was looking at buying the S5 UIM and LIM and putting them on my car(S4 TII), because I need a new TPS and BAC and I thought that if I could get them with the more efficient S5 manifolds, then I might as well do that too. I emailed the guy who was selling them, and he told me that they will bolt right on to the S4 motor. However, I thought I've read that the S5 manifolds are taller, and the S4 intercooler won't fit on them. Could anyone confirm this?

I was having that problem with searching too, but if you search for S4* and S5*, it should work.

Alright, thanks. I'll try that. Been trying to figure out how to do that for ages now.

Anyway, I should add that this is a J-Spec intake manifold. It has no EGR valve, which I think would promote better flow as well. Right now I'm running with blockoff plates on all the emissions crap.

Bump. My auction ends in 3 hours. :-/ Well, I read on this message board that the S5 manifolds will bolt right on to the S4 motor, but I read on the other message board that you have to have the S5 intercooler, because it is thinner and the S4 one won't fit betweent he hood and UIM. Could anyone confirm this?

I'm pretty sure from what I remember the S5 UIM is taller than the S4. I saw a pic somewhere (I think it was on this board) comparing the two, and the S5 was quite noticabley taller.

The core is the same thickness, but the brackets are slightly different to suit the higher mounting points.

Okay, I suppose I would just have to modify the brackets on my S4 intercooler then. No matter, I didn't win the auction. Thanks for your help though.
