#1. Have a horsepower goal in mind.
#2. do not consider T3 turbos.
#3. Post the specs on your motor.
#4. Post supporting mods installed/planned.

I cant tell you what to do, I can only help.

Do you plan to remain on the stock ECU? Or do you plan to go with a standalone?

How much money you got saved up for this?
If you're under $5,000, don't even bother...

Ok, sorry for jacking this thread, but I'll like to get some inputs here and dont wanna waste space posting another similar thread.

#1. 300 to 400 whp; spool to 12psi by 3500rpm
#2. Not considering T3, no BB turbos too.
#3. S5 Tii motor street ported, 550cc primaries/1000cc sec. or 1000cc primaries/ 1630cc sec
#4. Haltech E6k, stock IC, RB turbo back exhaust, walbro 255 FP, EBC

Please comment on turbo options for me. Thanks!

60 -1 and 1600cc secondRIES
1000cc secondaries , using rx7.com calculator , wont give u much room to grow over the 300whp mark

You can go the easy route and get a hybrid, or you can pick from one of several turbos that will get you there if you want to get off the stock manifold.

Interesting comment considering I have 720 primaries and 1600 secondaries and at 490 wheel HP, my IDCs were only 75%

Will a hybrid like the BNR stage 2 or 3 give me the response I'm asking for? For the power they are claiming, the seem a little too good to be true.

well, thats pretty much your only option unless you want to come off the stock manifold. Is that an option for you?

Yes. I wasn't planning on using the stock manifold. However, if I can get what I'm seeking for in a hybrid turbo using the stock manifold and internal WG, then that'll be a great weight off the financial side.

Well, then if 300 is your goal and you want spool by 3500, a BNR would probably fit the bill. I was never able to get my stage 4 over 347 HP on a stock motor though..

Boost was about 19 PSI, and fuel was race gas, which is generally whats in my tank when I go above 17 PSI or so.

But my fuel is irrelevant.

Boost was too high for what I was getting. I think after some pondering and scratching our heads, we determined there just wasnt enough timing in the car. A problem that would have been rectified if my BNR had not lunched itself. An event that hastened my transition to a full single upgrade.

Where do you get these figures from.

If he has the motor in already. It can be done for less.

It depends on the option he takes.

^^ Well, everything depends on "options". If he can find cheap parts and does everything himself, then maybe yeah.

I started off giving myself a budget of $5000. As of now with all the parts I gathered (almost all used items), and some conservative projected cost on parts and labor, I'm approaching $10000!

But i guess it all depends on what you want and not getting carried away. Still, $5000 really isn't alot.

I'm looking for something that will spool to 70% - 75% by 3500 and peak to around 350whp. I'm not planning on going above 16psi.

How do you define a stock motor by the way? Is a street ported motor controlled by a stand alone still in the category of stock in your books?

My plan is also 720 primaries/ 1600 secondaries with T-04 Hybrid. Good to know you're producing that kind of HP.....you must have painstakingly tuned it just right for spark and fuel. Great job!
