Turbo to Manifold Gasket

I need to replace the gasket that goes between the turbo and the exhaust manifold. I need any suggestions from someone who has done this before.
The car is an 87 TII I just picked up for cheap.

drain cooland/oil, remove dp, acv, air pump, cear some stuff out, take out split air pipe from cat. get a 14mm and start taking out the 4 bolts on the turbo 2 manifold, unbolt coolant and oil lines from turbo. once everything is clear pull. gasket is like 48 bucks or so. spendy. once gaskets on run car for a bit, like drive it and re check bolts for getting loose. also put in some new oil and coolant.

this takes some time especially if you havent done it before, or the car is old which most of our's are.

as far as the 14mm bolts. make sure you have about a 1ft extension and a swively thingy on the end. this helps for the top right one, and some of the bottom ones. the top left one needs to be removed with a 14mm wrench from under the car, and so does the bottom one left too if you cant get it with a socket.

also remove heat shields and 02 sensor before.

im probably forgetting some stuff, but it will all come to you.
were here if you need more help

here how i did it

first, if you have the extra 12.99, go to shucks, auto zone, krager whichever is in your locale and order the manifold to motor gasket. I took mine out as one big unit.

remove any/all heat shields you can, the hose going from the turbo to the intercooler, blow off valve and the turbo inlet duct

i had the acv and air pump removed perm., so you may need to do remove those too

next remove the lower two bolts off the downpipe/pre cat. Then remove the three upper bolts. the inboard top one is a pain, i had to cut mine off with a dremmel.

remove the four nuts of the exhaust manifold to the motor.

remove the lower oil line from the flange at the front of the motor and the lower coolant line, have a bucket ready to catch some fluid

disconnect the upper coolant line from the motor and the upper oil line from the b nut by the front of the motor, not the turbo. many can't get it to reseal, including me, today i got the new gaskets to fix leak

disconnect vaccum lines, i also removed upper radiator hose. and disconnected the heater hose and loosened some elcectrcal and ac lines. if you have abs, you might need to remove that

lift the turbo and manifold off the studs and rotate, twist and cuss to get it out. It will then be easier to take the turbo off the manifold.

it took me five hours the first time to remove and one nad half to reinstall. about one and a half now to remove.

you'll will probably find a crack in the manifold and one on the turbo. common on higher mileage units. i'm going with mine until i can get a manifold. also, if you plan to go with futher mods, like exhuast and intake, now would be a great time to port the wastegate on the turbo. search for, how to port the wastegate on this forum and there will be some info on that.

sorry for the long post, but if i can help somebody out and make it easier than it is worth it.
