turbo lag

can someone explain to me what this is....and what causes it

google will answer all your questions, but heres the short version

turbos work by using the exhaust to spin a turbine that compresses that incoming air, the time between when you step on the gas and when the turbo starts spinning and compressing air is turbo lag

in most cars the turbos wont really do anything until about 3000 rpm (rx7 no exception)
