Does that "kit" come with a turbo tranny that you will probably need to run to harness all of that turbo power?

Where do you see duct tape at???
Anyways you dont need a turbo tranny to harness all that power, it's probably less than 250hp.
And for for your info his car ran a 13.5 on 6psi, but I never said it only had the turbo on it.
Car made the run with the following
87 motor ported
Ported 91 intake manifold
stripped interior
25 shot of nitrous to cool it down
and 15" slicks.
So please don't be talking $h*t when you dont know
anything about the car

Nitrous to cool it down..................

Nitrous burns 10x hotter than regular fuel.

it sprays cold into the intake, which cools stuff off. thats where it counts.

All that turbo power?. Oh. you must be referring to the "Awesome" 200 or so HP to the wheels he will be getting.

Turbo tranny isn't needed. But preferred.

Havent people used the stock N/A driveline with superchargers before? perhaps even forum members...If it can take the power from supercharging, it should be all green lights for turbo.

Ok, you have proof that a stock n/a tranny can handle around 200 hp? Thats funny because my clutch that I put in a few months ago, the same one I checked when I pulled the motor and it havent worn much, only lasted a week before if starting slipping. Thats only with a few launches too, so stop making people think that its all good and dandy to run a stock drivetrain with that much power.

Dude didn't you read the word TRANNY!!!!

Um so yeah since when did anyone say the clutch would hold.

My clutch held till about 200 whp I droped it at around 250 And as soon as I hit 2nd bang, gone. Smoked the flywheel pretty bad too. Clutch had 9k on it. Put in a D/F Centerforce and it would hold 125 shot launches.

Hm I must have missed the words "n/a drivetrain".

I said tranny earlier because a TII tranny at a junkyard would be a few hundred $$, and could handle way more power than a n/a tranny with a stronger clutch.

At least I thought it looked like blue duct tape in the middle of the upper rad hose.

Sorry I forgot to specify that it was a stock clutch. I plan on ordering an ACT street/strip clutch here in the next week or so.

A used stock clutch went out?! DAMN, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

If you are too cheap to replace something as simple as a clutch while you have the engine out, dont even bother with a turbo.

Im trying to tell people that they NEED to either get a stronger clutch or tranny if they plan on running a turbo kit. But everybody keeps saying "oh no need to do that, stock na drivetrain is fine." Im trying to save people the time and effort to get a stronger clutch or tranny when the add a turbo.

Went for 425! Jesus. On an interesting note, whoever bought it got ripped off lol

He basically sold a manifold and turbo to some sucker for 425 heh.. and on an interesting note

Notice in the ad he says it includes and FMU? well..w atch this.... quotes form emails

My question:
> > > You say it includes an FMU, what FMU exactly is it?

His reply:
> > Now the FMU is the fuel management unit, when it reads manifold pressure
> > (boost)
> > it will raise fuel pressure to the psi making the injectors spray more
> fuel.
(well.. duh? still didnt answer my question)

I asked again:
> About the FMU then.. is it a stock CPU or is it an aftermarket piece like an
> S-AFC?

His reply:
Stock ECU nothing electronic was touched.

Interesting...
