like the subject said
sometimes when i brake i hear this popping or knocking sound coming from the back of the car....
its not REAL loud but it is loud enough to notice which mean something is wrong...
are my rear-brakes going bad or is it something more complicated??
if you need me to elaberate more let me know and i will try

At the first sound, I'd examine both calipers, pads, to be sure that the rotors aren't going to be damaged. If there is a noise, something is wrong.
When going slow, pull up slightly on emergency brake. If you hear noise, which you probably will, the pads/calipers,anti rattle clips need attention.

 

thats what i suspected.....its only when braking so its obviously something to do with that thanks for the response ....
chalk up another one for the members of the board!
