turbo intake pipes

Im thinking about changing my current setup and would perhaps need to change the intake pipe.

Curious who here has used a cheap honda ebay intake just for the pipe?

I used a piece of exhaust for mine. Not sure what the bend angle was, but IIRC it's a 4" pipe with reducer couplers

Mine was similar to that one until I chopped it up, added ports for the bypass valve and PCV, and put a real filter on it.

is this the spectre pipe you guys have?

http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znet.../8219/image/4/

for $40, i might as well try one of those ebay ones, just trying to see which one will have the best shape for it.

I want to get off that recirc. bov. and gonna go with a open atmosphere setup. Realized it wasnt even working.

Look at it, its a plunger type valve, now realize the surrounding fitting around it not being tapered , the air has no where to go. Compared to what the original part looks like http://i55.tinypic.com/sxliq1.jpg

I think I used a prelude intake. More piping and can be cut to suit. Rather have too much than not enough...

I bought an intercooler kit from ebay, and hacked the pipes and had them rewelded to fit and sold the intercooler. I'm a cheap ***, but it worked out fine for me.

I would confirm it is anodized alum and not anodized appearing plastic

Yeah, that spectre one is the one I have. I don't need an AFM so that pipe was pretty much plug and play.

This is the same BOV that I have for my car, was looking for a kit to make it recirculate, but couldn't find one. Did you have any issues with it? Maybe I'm missing it but I don't understand how you're saying with the taper the air still has no where to go?

I had a spare civic awhile ago while I was working on getting my 7 running after I bought it. I hacked off about 2 1/2 inches worth of 3 inch aluminum intake pipe and used a couple of autozone couplers and cone filter to rig the worlds shortest intake up to my turbo.

Best part: I reconnected the civics intake and sold it after scavenging some other bits, like superfluous exhaust hangers
