Turbo II Gasket Question

I recently rebuilt my 88 TII and ported the wastegate on my stock turbo. I have misplaced the gasket that goes between the wastegate and the plate that the downpipe bolts to. I don't remember seeing the gasket, but my friend that took it apart said there was one there. It is not the gasket that seals the turbo and downpipe, it is about 1 inch upstream, just to clarify.

here is what i think i am looking for (The one on the left side of the picture)

Does anyone know where I can get this gasket or a part number so I can order it? Thanks for the help.

I don't think there is a gasket there, just two really flat and smooth surfaces. Isn't that thing called the backplate?

I don't even see it on the Mazdatrix site.

The link to that turbo picture on my last post was from the mazdatrix website. It is the upgraded turbo that they sell. They have the parts layed out and one of the gaskets is shaped the same as the backplate which is why I thought there was supposed to be one there.

I will call them tomorrow to make sure, I hope you are right Heffboost. Thanks, Rob

There isnt a gasket there. Alot of people (including myself) think that they misplaced it after porting the WG.

Thanks for the help guys. I thought I was losing it while sifting through a ton of parts. Now all I have to find is the bolts that hold the backplate on.

Ok, that makes me feel a lot better. As well, are there any bolts that hold the backplate to the turbo besides the studs that hold the dp on? I would look at the turbo and be able to tell but it is in the car which is 1.5 hours away. I am hoping to have everything I need next weekend when I go back down there to get it started. Thanks again.
