fender flaring

looking to get some kind of fender flaring without buying the whole fender like the corksport ones... basically just over-fenders that extends the body out a bit with some modification to the fender to give a bit more room for the wheel well.... anyone know where to get that?

i know corksport has some over fenders but from the looks of it, it doesn't seem like i can mod it a bit to make more room for the wheel well....

(and yeah, i know i'm cheap =X)

If you want something really inexpensive, try just rolling the lips of your wheel wells. It looks good if done correctly, but you will most likely have to repaint the quarterpanels/fenders.

Fender flares are expensive no matter what you get.

Has anyone EVEN rolled the lip of the fender?? Does it look good? wouldn't that kinda weaken the metal at the edge of the fender, it would be thin...and the first time the tire catches the fender, its all over.

i mean i wouldn't mind spending like 400 bucks for something useful, but i'm not going for looks really (well still has to look decent), so i'm not about to fork over some thousand dollars for a wide-body kit like the mariah's or those other japanese brands

...i should have said a few hundred bucks as to a few thousand as cheap vs expensive...

I haven't seen too many "bolt-on" fender flares..I mean I have seen SOME, but nothing within my reach...everything worth having is in Japan, or in the land of the Aussies. Its not really fair, FD's and FB's have more options then we do...

What's wrong w/ the Corksport overfenders? I know it was mentioned, but they are reasonably cheap ($195 for all 4), should be easy to install. Not great looking, but it sounds like you're not real concerned about looks... I'd just go with those -- ask Corksport how much extra room they give (if it's not on their website).

And if you want them to be "pretty" later, you can mold them in w/ glass or something...

Those are Disgusting. Even if I didn't care about looks, and was just trying to fit a specific size(rather wide) of tire.....I STILL wouldn't get those!

Agreed, those fenders ruin the lines of the car.

those fender flares actually look like panspeed ones... which i think are what the RE-A fc2000 car has, but they have the fender integrated into their body kit.

is thte corksport fender flares fibreglass or metal? if metal i would try cutting a set of stock fenders and butt welding them together, get the die grinder to grind the welds... prime and paint... the lines will look much better if you take away the seems.

those are pretty bad....personally, I would just not spend my money on those, get reasonably wide rims so as to not upset handling characteristics and some really nice tires.

I'm pretty sure that PANSPEED Uses PANSPEED Fenders, and some with RE..not some Knock-off "Corksport" ones..
And there are some rivet style flares out there..I just haven't found someone to import them yet.

from the looks of the picture, the corksport over-fenders seem to give hardly any more width than the stock wheel well... the only wider part i see is the top, and i emailed them about the amount of room it gives and they don't even know, except the the top of it is 2" wider

Obviously that doesn't look good taped to the car with no paint.

Now if he rolled the rear fender like this:

That would be a nice combo for very cheap.

Yeah, and OBVIOUSLY those aren't the same fenders....RE makes and sells flared fenders...just like those on the White RE FC

if u look closely at the RE car... the fender will require you to use their fc2000 front air dam... notice how the front air damn takes the lower front 1/4 pannel.
and the fender flare ends before the turn signal?

the kit from rotaryextreme.com is 2000 bucks.
wow
and that doesn't include paint or the black peices attached to the front air dam (sorry i dn't know what htey are called)

Easiest way to roll a fender is with a baseball bat, but you have to know what you are doing.

Soul Assasins, and that blue car are done with fiberglass and bodyfiller, no kit.

And how the hell do you roll the fender lips out with a baseball bat?? That just sounds, so...wrong.

Theyre saying they *LOOK* similar to the RE ones not that RE or Panspeed use Corksport addons.

The Corksport ones look very similar to the ones on the RE-Amemiya FC ONCE you mold them into the fender.

Some guy was selling wide fenders on here a while back. They were reasonably priced and didnt look that bad. Try doing a search and you should come up with a few fender flare threads.

how wide of a tire do you want to put on? Do you just want to make it so you can put the same size tires on the front?
