im looking to buy a car and i have found a 1987 rx-7 w/43k miles (originally) it is a turbo. The thing that i am confused about is that i always hear people say turbo II. is that the kind of car im looking at? And if it is a turbo II it should have the hood scoop right? Because the car im considering does not have the scoop in the hood. if someone could explain this to me it'd really help me out. hopeully i made sense.

 

All stock second generation RX-7s with turbos are the TurboII model and they all have the hood scoop. If you pop the hood, and the engine doesn't have a magical square on the top, it's not a stock turbo.

Awww....no where does it say it is a turbo....and plus it doesn't even have the turbo side skirts and stuff....ermmm....not a turbo

 

Thats not even close to a turbo II, looks like an SE

 

I'm surprised all the vets on the board aren't suffering from dejavu. Someone was here about a month ago with a blue SE that the dealer was trying to tell them was a turbo. To show you how bored I am, here's the thread:
