Question Turbo heatshield

Does anyone use a heatshield between their turbo and lower intake manifold. These bad boys are CLOSE.

I can only see it prolonging any heat transfer temporaliary since they are so friggin close. I mean once any shield I make gets heated up, won't it have the same effects just later...???

Any one have any input here... Thanks.

The airspace between the turbo and the heatshield is an excellant insulator. That's how heatshields work.

The heat shields protect other components by blocking the radiant heat transfer. Remember there's conduction, convection, and radiation. So the heat shield absorbs the radiant heat. And yea then the air gap helps cool things off too (convection).

IF you need any stock ones I should have some.

Personally I never put them back on unless requested otherwise. The heatshield literally gets mashed in between the LIM and turbo. I bet in a couple of spots there is less than 2mm of clearance on either side of the heatshield.
