Turbo Exhaust on an NA
Hey i searched the forums for the answer but couldnt find it. I was wondering because I have a donor car ready for a 89 S5 TII/tranny swap into my 86 project and my exhaust on the 89 and the exhaust on my 86 are rusted to hell and I want to go ahead and get a Turbo exhaust since the car would be turbo in the future..the question is...is it ok to buy that turbo exhaust and install it on the NA and run it as is until the swap or is that impossible? I want to know before I buy this thing and then see that it doesnt hook up right

there is really no point in doing so IMHO
Buying a new exhaust to use on your car while you wait to do the swap just means that the money you spend on the nice new exhaust is going to be sitting and wearing and rusting while you wait to do the swap....
There will be very very minimal performance gains...AND the turbo systen won't exactly work on the N/A - you would need a piece to bolt to the manifold that goes to the cat....
I say wait till you swap in the TII motor then spend some bucks on a nice RB system - why buy it now and let it rot so you can say you've got turbo exhaust on an N/A

Both RB systems have Identical Cat-Backs EXCEPT the Turbo Mufflers are notably louder.
The pre-silencers are all the same as well if its the 2.5" system.
The money you spend on an N/A downpipe (provided you use the stock header) you could spend on a Turbo Downpipe. Using the Stock Header will greatly reduce noise levels compared to the RB N/A Header.
If you use another Turbo cat-back (For Example the Apexi N1 Dual) Style, it will be INCREDABLY LOUD on an N/A car. Most other Turbo exhausts are a straight through affair.
