Exclamation Turbo dump tube

I know there is about 5-10 posts on this! I'm wondering since i hit boost creep bad around 5k rpm. Could I port out the wastegate and make a dump tube for it, would it help boost creep a lot? I've read that poeple ported the wastegate out to a 33mm and still hit boost creep horribly. I just don't want to creep anymore! I'm located in NJ so if anyone knows a shop here that can help me I would really like that!!! I'm a technician at a import shop but its only me and another guy and I don't think we could figure it out quickly, so I rather take it or here from someone who has expierience on this topic!

in order to do it youd have to separate the wastegate port from the turbine exhause port. Youd have to make a custom back plate that allows you to do this. You could weld a devider on the stock backplate and cut out a hole on the wastgate side and weld on a dump tube. Im curious as to why you want to do this? its going to be incredibly loud and may not even be worth it. My wastegate is ported and it holds boost just fine and does not creep. Save the money.

The short answer is yes, but open-venting an internal wastegate is harder than it sounds. The divider that seperates the turbine and wategate flows inside the exhaust housing needs to be completely airtight or you'll have a very noisy exhaust leak all the time. That requires pretty precise machining. Easier is to join the wastegate pipe back into the main pipe, or simply make a "big-mouth" downpipe like the shown one in this pic.

I've read that poeple ported the wastegate out to a 33mm and still hit boost creep horribly.
Like who? I have zero boost creep with my 32mm wastegate port.

10whp thats a lot!!! I totally understand it will be loud. I don't care how loud it would be I would just like the wastegate flow to have its own path n not play with my exhaust. As long as it's possible I dont see why I shouldnt try it. Some guy on the teamfc3s forum said theey bored it to a 33mm n still have creep!!! thank you for your help

It should only be loud at max boost. If you do it wrong it will be loud all the time because of exhaust from the turbine leaking out the dump pipe. Exhaust leaks sound like ****.

Nobody said you shouldn't, just be aware that you have to do it right. If you do it, make sure you post your experiences here, good or bad.

Then he probably has a faulty, leaking or disconnected wastegate actuator, or a badly mismatched hybrid, rather than a problem with the size of the port. Most people with wastegate ports that big have no problems.
