FMIC question
ok i just searched all the FMIC threads for a good 40 mins looking for a answer to this question its a real noob question and other people asked the questions but they weren't really answered in depth. ok im new to the turbo scene sort of few months basically and im looking into to getting the greddy FMIC from rx7store.net the $900 V spec(I believe). I'm confused as to where the BOV goes ive seen other peoples set ups and the BOV is in different places, I'm looking into buy the blitz BOV, Also i see some say that a FMIC is not a good idea because radiator temps and other stuff like that and im curious if this is true what do people do to counteract these resultants of getting a FMIC?

Most FMIC setups do not come setup for a BOV, you have to have one welded onto the piping wherever you want. When you buy an aftermarket BOV it generally comes with a weld on flange which is needed for this. ONce you select where you want the bov, a hole is cut out in the piping there and the flange is welded over it, then the bov can be bolted onto that flange.
Anytime you restrict the airflow entering the nose of the car the core temps of everything else will possibly rise. In our cars this includes radiator/coolant, a/c, and oil temps. With proper ducting to force air through each and every core, enough heat is transferred to keep everything happy in general. This is just a fact of life on cars with a small air opening in the front end.

Oh yea, I can back this up. Its ALL about the foam and proper ducting!!

"what mods do you have? do you even need a FMIC yet? usually you want to upgrade the radiator before you get a FMIC"
I have a stock rad and stock fan with a fmic. I had a 3 inch griffin rad with a ford escort efan and it would not stay under 215 on the highway so we had to switch back to the stock setup. Stock setup works.
