turbo detonation

turbo detonation

will disconnecting the pressure regulator cause the turbo to detonate?????

the turbo doesnt detonate... your wngine detonates. but if you pull the pressure regulator vac line off it wornt increase the fuel pressure on the rail, so it doesnt add fuel and the engine runs leaner, and that will cuase detonation in the engine wich could verry easaly destroy it.

Are you talking about the FUEL pressure regulator or the OIL pressure regulator?

my engine is fine its just my turbo thats blown. and nothing started going wrong until a friend disconnected the vac line while he was installing my bov

wtf? so the vac line to the bov or the fuel pressure reg? The fuel pressure regulator if disconnected will not increase fuel pressure with boost. If the vac line is removed from the bov the bov won't work causing excessive compressor surge causing turbo problems.

Sounds like the bov install got screwed up and killed the turbo.

i already drop kicked the dumb *** who in stalled it then when i had a guy from 7's only look at it he said he crossed 2 lines and plugged the wrong one to the bov on top of disconnecting the pressure regulator

i figured he knew how since he works at a performance shop but hey its rotary. thats why i went to 7's only and thats where im staying
