Turbo Blanket on a stock turbo?

I was wondering if anyone's ever but a turbo blanket on their stock turbo (or stock hybrid)

I'm attempting to on mine and ran into issues with the was gate actuator getting in the way. I'm also not sure if the coolant inlet flange is going to clear...

I'm sure I can cut the blanket up a little to clear the actuator. But am interested to see what other people have done.

Looks good. I used one on my BNR stage 4 turbo. The turbo blanket that I used wrapped around the actuator arm pretty well without hindering it's functionality.

you might want to trim some so the rod can slip under but that's it. it's obviously not going to fit perfect with an internally gated turbo.

you think I need to worry about the wastegate arm getting caught on the steel wire mesh on the inside of the blanket? I'm not sure how much force that uses to open the wastegate.

i wouldn't tie it together very tight, it may catch but i doubt it will hang up. the spring tension is enough to mangle the wire in there before it holding it up.

Not entirely stock, but close enough. It's a T04b hybrid with an S5 stock hot side. I made this little guy out of welding cloth. It works just fine. I even sewed it together with regular upholstery thread, and the threads show no sign of burning.

I got a turbo blanket from Summit Racing that has worked out well for me. It doesn't fit perfect as you can see.

This is the one that I used for my BNR stage 4. I bought one back when they were priced higher. I've tried puttng out a good word on this particular "turbo beenie". The thing is... When I removed it about two or so months ago, it fell apart. It worked VERY well while it was on the turbo. I was able to put my hand on it at operating temperature.

How have most other turbo blankets held up?

What size turbo blanket fits a GT3574? Is it a T3 or T4 turbine housing?

The generic T3 blanket from CXRacing fits great on the stock hotside. I bought one on amazon from them for $50. On their website they're $75 or $80 I think.
