turbo ATF / water / Carb cleaner clarification
turbo ATF / water / Carb cleaner clarification
OK - now after searching, I saw many people with different opinions as to where to pull the vacuum tube that'll get to both rotors on a turbo. I saw many many "picz plz" and other stupid things, but I never really saw consenus as to where to pull the tube. I've seen a few that say boost sensor only helps the rear rotor and then a few say something about a wastegate tube. Any definate answers?

Any of the vacuum lines on the front intake between the throttle body and surge tank.
If you are going to do this, use water as it is the most non-threatening to the engine.

Maybe I'm just not thinking of the correct tubes. You're talking about the little tubes that are like 4 or 5 inches directly under the IC that are on the driver side. I was under the impression that some easy to reach tubes existed as well.

The lines I am talking about are directly on the front of the intake, where the throttle body bolts to the surge tank. I chose those because they lead to the throttle body, which in turn leads to both rotors. Check a diagram in the factory service manual or Haynes.

Maybe being an S4 - I don't have those, but couldn't you just use the line that controls the factory BOV? I see that's hooked to the manifold, it's a little line - but I would imagine that it would work. I guess the only issue with that would be the pressure thing on the BOV.
just some input, you can get the same or better results by spraying amsoil power foam in the intake, it'll clean all the intake piping, intercooler and engine internals, i gained compression doing this
I didn't think you should spray that stuff into the intake just because of the increased temp from ATF/ CC that it would do something bad to the turbo and all that. But hey - if it worked for you, I wouldn't disagree.
I want to do it because this car had been sitting a while and after checking many things out - it's been running rich and I'm confident that there's some build up in there. I figured that it couldn't hurt to try and clean it out to see if it helps the situation any.

Amsoil Power foam is made to spray into the intake its made to get rid of the build up, its made to do what you are doin, the other things aren't look into it. Sorry if i'm being pushy it just seems everyone wants to use products not made for the application this way your actually using the product as it was intended to be used, i've used it on many cars, and it has always yeiled a better idle and smoother running engine along with gained compression
