Turbo 2 Newbie needs help

yeah the 6k hesitation stoped i think it could have just been that it sat for a lil while...I think im gonna gut the cats tom afternoon, I have a racing beat 2.5" cat-back, Infini IV says i shouldnt need a fcd and dr.jones63 says i will.... HMMM any one else??? also the Creeping Death FCD where does it ship from im going to the track on friday so id need it by then, i live in florida.

Infini is probably right a guttet cat is going to create turbulence and has something like 2.5 inch openings. How much boost are you wanting to make?

Gut the cat as you were going to. You shouldn't see over 7psi boost even with a gutted cat, as the stock precat and mufflers are still restrictive enough.

He's got an RB cat-back. His only limiter should be the pre-cat. What effect would a downpipe have on this system (I figure you can get one made cheap at a friendly muffler shop)?

Hmm, I would do the intake then, and leave your cat intact. Find a nice mandrel-bent pipe to replace your old, plastic TID. Then get an adaptor to fit a cone-filter on it. That's about as much as I would to without getting an FCD and a better fuel pump.

I did the intake today with the plastic stuff like this...... and im not exactly sure what your saying to replace???
And I got a lil blue matching filter(not it the pic) at autozone for the Air pump hose till i remove it.

It helped a little, befor i put it on It started boostin at 4.5 PSI now it right about at 5 PSI....Still debating on gutting cats today, I think im gonna go to the track to see what its runnin now then gut them to see what kinda gains I get.
