Question Turbo 2 Newbie needs help

I wanna check my #'s to see if there right, im getting a lil hesitation sometimes just after 6000 RPM's......I installed a autometer boost gauge, theres a pic to see if i installed it in the right spot.
My Idle is at 900 and boost is at 4psi... heres a movie from dead stop, 1st gear, 2nd gear & most of 3rd....

Stock boost is 5-6lb (the gauge can be off 1lb either way). With an exhaust mod, you usually see at least 1 psi extra boost. With a full straight exhaust you'll often see 10+. Something is amiss there, if the gauge is accurate and the hose is plumbed in tight at both ends.

you'll probably see that after changing the plugs it won't hesitate after 6k...unless there's something up with you car. now i don't know why you're getting lower psi than a stock 87 t2 should be getting but yeah like rotaryres said a turbo back should increase the psi by 1 -2. so you should be boosting like 6-7 psi not 4.

Does the vacuum hose go straight into the intake manifold?
I would "flip" the T so the stock boost sensor sees the "branch".

If you're getting less boost you have an intake or exhaust restriction, or there is a problem with the turbo or the wastegate.

Probably, with a straight through exhaust you also need to port your wastegate, especialy if you have a aftermarket intake.

If you are trying to keep cost down Creeping Death FCD is $30 http://mysite.verizon.net/res1f3en/id5.html

A Rtek chip would be better

If you gut the cat's you *shouldn't* need an FCD, as the stock exhaust is still quite restrictive. Did you fix your 6k hesitation?
