trying to get the brakes off..
im trying to get the rear brakes off so i can replace them - there rusted pretty bad cause the car was sitting outside for 2years, any ideas on what to use on the bolts to get them off?

get your self a 6-point 14mm closed end wrench and a rubber mallot. soak it in wd-40 or equivalent then hold the wrench on with one hand and slam it with a malot in your other hand. you realy need the six point to keep from rounding them off. trust me its worth the $8 it will cost you at sears not to round those bolts off.

man those are some scummed up breaks it will be worth your while to go to a hardware store and buy some replacement caliper bolts. they are grade ten 14mm fine thread if they end up getting to rusted to tell from the ones you have. looks like you're looking at a rebuild on those calipers too. good luck

ooor, get a set of craftsman bolt-out's at sears. they really help with rusty/damaged nuts and bolts.
you can sorta se how they work.. they bite into the nut/bolt with sharp edges and they DON'T LET GO! unless of course you break the bolt head off...
