Troubleshooting tranny/clutch (trouble going into/out of gear)

Ok thank you to everyone who helped me troubleshoot my grounds/electrical system ect. I got the car running today, after sitting all winter all I had to do was pull the plugs, crank it for about 5 minutes to remove all the junk inside, clean the plugs, pour in some dry gas, and some oil into the chambers, and boom shes back up and running. Now I know I need a fuel pump asap. And that will be on the way shortly. But before I can even move the car, I need some help with this. The car shifts hard into gear, sometimes it wont even go in/out at all. The clutch pedal itself seems to have plenty of resistance, and the fluids in the master cylinder seem to be OK and not leaking. Where can I check the tranny fluid? And if this is not the case, what else might cause this? Please help me, and excuse my lack of basic motor knowledge

Here is a pic of the tranny fill plug:

Open those guys up and stick your finger in there to see if you can feel fluid.

Also, even if the clutch feels like it is releasing, it might not be. Maybe you need a new TO bearing or the pressure plate is shot.

bleed clutch hydraulics, if u suspect clutch not working properly
if its trans fluid, u have 2 filler plugs on side of tranny to check level (u need to get under the car)

I know it is releasing and grabbing because if I do get it to go into gear, it will move forward if i drive it. Just sometimes it wont go in to any gear at all, and sometimes I can shift through all the gears fine. Its usually hardest to get it into first, second and reverse.

if it does go into gear and drive sometimes, that would mean the clutch is functioning properly and it just needs fluid hopefully?
