im just wondering what models of rx7 came with the shift up light, is it only s4's?

 

mine has one... 87 TII

 

IIRC, all manual RX7's came with them.

Sometimes the 'stopper' on the clutch pedal pops thru, making the shift up light and cruise control not work. I used a penny and some RTV and glue'd it where the plug was supposed to be on the clutch pedal. Now all is good

 

S4 models only.

 

whats this shift up light i have an s4 and never seen a shift light it had a buzzer but the previous owner got rid of that.

 

My damn shift up comes on in 5th gear! Whats sad is that it allways has. The 1st owner kept perfect records and a lot of the first ones are the 5th gear shift up. Even after a CPU swapout he still had it. Weird huh?

 

Mine does that as well.

Your "Over the Top" switch (or 5th gear switch) is either broken or disconnected. Mazda parts books calls it the Over the Top Switch.

Repair or replace as needed. You will probably seen better emissions at highway speeds when it gets fixed as well as increased cat life.

 

Only on US spec models. It lights up at the best point to shift to the next gear for Fuel economy based on gear position, throttle position and RPM.
