Upon further investigation of that mess you just posted, it is apparent to me that you're asking a question of probability, when it should be a question of the particular car.
Tell us this- what do you know about this car? How many miles? Was the tranny ever rebuilt/replaced?

there is a pull a part here in town that has a 88 rx7 auto tranmission car and i need a motor. i was trying to figure out why the car might be in there i checked to fluids and they looked good i didnt check the tranney fluid . so i was wondering if the auto transmission might have been a wink link on the rx7 ? like some other brands of cars . the mileage is 150 thousand .

Wow. Usually when a car is in a junkyard, it's there for a reason. Don't waste your money on a motor from a junkyard. You should have no further questions now.

the car i just got has been sitting for 5 years and i was told a water seal went out i checked compression in ft rotor there was none or little to none and it had milky water in that rotor and smoked really bad . so im guessing th ft housing and rotor isn't any good. at pull a part a long block motor is 99 dollors . if it was no good i was thanking of taking to to make 1 . so would it still not be worth the price to get it ?

If your front rotor and housing are trashed, it is quite likely that your rear are, as well. If you can disassemble both motors, and see if you have all the parts you need between the two, then it is a solid investment for $100.
If your knowledge of what it takes to make a complete motor is this nonexistent, I HIGHLY doubt you are knowledgeable enough to determine whether engine components are in spec, or that you will be able to properly rebuild the engine with the components you have.
You are in over your head, I believe.

Well, then, Kelly, I'd suggest searching for threads on rebuilding motors. I can tell you this, from hearing it on the thread so many times-
Atkins Rotary rebuild DVD will be extremely helpful.
You will want to make sure you have usable parts for your engine build; make sure everything is within spec before you use it.
Good luck; sounds like a rather ambitious project!

Noob of the week is taken already but if you don't start searching you might be next. Sounds like you have experience working on cars so you just need to be smacked in the right direction.
Download the FSM (post #8 in FAQs)
Search for RotaryResurrection and his rebuild thread and SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH.

it's not a bad title, some people just get offended by it. It just shows that you're the noob that asks questions that are easily answer via search.
Download the info I posted, research some more and get to work. If you run into a problem then please DO post in here. Otherwise just read and prepare for your project.

i had my 87 s4 NA auto for about a year when the tranny started slipping out of gear, it got really annoying so i upgraded to a reconditioned s5 turbo auto.
The s4 saw more than 240,000kms and 20yrs, but i didnt have the money to get it fixed, so i got one sent over from a reputable supplier and got it installed just down the road from where i live for a third of the cost of a rebuild. It works brilliantly.

just buy one from a member here. Have you gone to the For Sale sections? They might be able to provide you with info on the condition of the tranny as opposed to the unknown $99 tranny.
