Trans.
Can I take out my 86-RX7 Manual Trans. and put in my 87-RX7 that has a Auto. Trans.? I just Bought an 86 becouse I wanted a stick and give my Wife the auto but the 86 has no compression so I want to put the stick in the car that runs. What is a ECU?

why the hell you wanna do that? Most people take out the slug-o-matic and put in the 5spd. It could be done if you have the ECU for the auto tranny. I got one if you want one. I just pulled my auto to put in a manual.

You will also need an auto steering column as well as gauge cluster. The auto computer, and an auto driveplate and counterweight. You'll need a blockoff plate for the clutch master cylinder. You'll need an auto driveshaft as well.
edit: oh yea, you'll also need the cable that goes from the steering column to the gear selector.
