Tranny Swap Question

Alright im in the middle of doing a auto to manual swap in my 87. After you take off the torque converte plate, you have the flywheel and the driveplate connected by the 4 bolts.
Hwo did some of you guys that did the swap take these off. How did you stop the flywheel from spinning. MIne dont seem to want to come off. Please help.

Thanks

The easiest way is to use an impact wrench.

Im not talking about the big flywheel nut. It is the 4 that you can see when you take off the torque converter cover plate they are connecting the driveplate to the flywheel. Ypu cannot get an impact wrench in there. it is way too tight . I cant even get a rachet in there.

Oh, there is a tool specifically made to hold the flywheel still from moving if that helps at all.

It's an auto right, and you're trying to take the unbolt the torque convertor from the FLEXPLATE right? Never worked on an auto rx7 so I can't help you but you need to verify what you're working on first of all.

autos = flexplate
manual = flywheel
