Is this the same trans you took out, or a different one? Is it the same clutch disc, or a new one? Did you change the pilot bearing, or is it the old one? Did you use an input shaft tool (the plastic kind) to line up the clutch disc? Need more info.

Its a TII clutch? N/A clutch have a different number of teeth from what I have been told. Aside from that, it is a bit difficult to mate the tranny and engine together if you are under the car. It should be easier to do it if you remove the engine and tranny together. Kinda late in your situation. So, if I were you, (and I have been in your position) I'd hold my tongue right and keep trying as long as the clutch is a TII clutch.

OK - Now we're getting somewhere. The Big Question - Before you installed the new clutch, did you slide the disc onto the input shaft to be sure it fit? If not, it sounds like there's you're problem.

Did you use an alignment tool to center the clutch disc. If you did you just have to keep trying. Turn the flywheel a little and try shoving the tranny in again. Sometimes it slips right in and sometimes it takes a while. Make you you dont have a dowl in the engine and in the same spot of the tranny. Sometimes the dowl comes out with the tranny.

My suggestion is a) check the allignment again with the plastic tool real quick, make sure it didn't move somehow. b) turn the transmission a little and try again... I've never had as much trouble as it sounds like you're having getting it in...
Checking the dowels is a good idea too...

its just a bitch to do it under the car like that. for some reason its always hard lining up transmissins in these cars. you need a turbo flywheel, a turbo clutch, turbo starter and the turbo transmission. n/a stuff doesn't work--jeremie
