tranny issue????

ok. so my shifting has become erratic. when i go from first to second i cannot go straight there. it almost sems like i have to make a diagonal to neutral then another diagonal to second. any idea what could be causing this? does it sound like i may need a news transmission???

Time for some Redline!!

Hmmm... Seems you acquired a GXL and a TII at the same time.. Wonder where you got those from?

I have the same problem, i've got an 87' GXL. It seems like the gears slowly move, as far as i can tell, i need a new transmission. Personally i don't know alot about this, but i've gotten used to shifting that way, it's a pain and it's slower then just throwing straight back from 1st gear to 2nd. but i've been driving it that way for the past 4 months and it hasn't changed much i've saving up to buy the turbo transmission. I heard that the NA tranny in the FC was built weak, plus my FC's got over 219,000 on it.

Inside. Take off the shifter surround (plastic piece) and then it should be pretty obvious.
