Tran Crossmem & mounts.. Problem with Mazda dlr.

So I went to get a new tranny crossmember and mounts because my busing in the crossmember broke out...

They gave me the wrong crossmember first off, so now we're fussin and fighting over the part numbers. But we finally got that resolved because I used Mazdatrix to get the number for the correct mount...

Now Mazdatrix and Mazda both came to agreement on the mounts...
FB01-39-340A

Now on my vehicle both sides have bolts on the mounts to screw a nut onto... The mounts they gave me just have like rubber dowels on each end? What's the deal? Should I just use em and not bother to bolt them to the crossmember?

Considering the center bushing isn't designed to support weight, wouldn't it be imperative to make sure the mounts are bolted in correctly? Even the Service Manual shows the mounts being bolted to the crossmember and the bracket that is attached to the tranny...

Please help so I can fix my car before the damn thing shakes itself apart...

are you sure the rubber dowels aren't just sleeves they put on there after manufacture to protect the thread on the bolts? try pulling or cutting them off and there should be a stud under there.

and let me guess they gave you the s4/s5 mount when you had the opposite.

well.. nm.. the sleeves were molded with the mount.. i had to cut them off... Mazda was bein sloppy...

as fior the crossmember... they gave me the auto tranny member... i specifically asked for one for manual tranny...

they said my VIN was for an auto tranny... but this car hasn't even been converted... There's no sign of bolt holes/mounting for the auto tranny (the mount on the passenger side would be flat instead of at an angle...

*grumble* oh well.. they're being good sports about it and not charging me the difference for the crossmember
