Or this with a small torque wrench, because you WILL need to get your car on a lift to use the 3/4" drive one with the 3.5 foot reach!

I've always gotten a 2 ft breaker bar and stood on the end. (At 170 lbs, I'd be putting 320 Ft/Lbs of pressure on the nut.) calculate for weight.

Or just use the impact and trust the max torque rating on it.

I really don't think the flywheel nut torque is critical enough to be dead on.

Tension bolts, water pump bolts, yes.. but that one big one at that high of a rating, not so much.

Yeah, I've used my gun and always broke them loose. If it doesn't work with air, then man up.

Torque wrenches are used for installation, not removal.

I know, but others were discussing removal for some reason.

Torque ratings on impacts are sketchy. I'd say that if your Snap-on gun has 480 max torque, then put it on max and hammer on it for a few seconds. I've seen guns with a claimed 250 ft-lbs that couldn't bust a lug nut loose. My impact has 850 ft-lbs of torque (claimed) but whether it'll actually do that is up for question.
