I'm thinking it is bad and the reason is the car starts fine but cuts out with any throutle. it doesnt not change if I unplug the tps. Do you know (other than the bracket) if the tps from the n/a vs t2 are the same? for some reason the t2 one is alot cheaper. Rock auto has on for 170$.

There are some relatively simple tests that will confirm you have a bad TPS before you splash out for a replacement.

Yes I checked Rockauto before and other than that one (^), they're crazy expensive.

Test it with a multimeter first, though, along the whole range. Instructions somewhere around here.

Someone needs to figure out how to rebuild these and offer a service. There was a really old thread with Icemark <RIP> playing with them, but nothing after that IIRC.

S4 non turbo and S4 turbo are the same but only on S4.

S5 turbo arent the same as non turbo S5.

Look for one in the classifieds section of this forum. Sometimes you can pick them up pretty cheap. But check yours and adjust it before you call it done.

the units at the end are all identical.. they all have the same resistance sweep
the wiring for two TPS is doubled up into one plug for s5 and so the wire colours are different for one of the units

the NA s5 unit has a bracket that is different to the turbo ..

ie .. the outer and inner positions swap

as long as you get the wiring correct , irrespective of the new colours
then the reostat unit itself will not care which engine or position ( wide or narrow range ) you fit it on
