Tow bar

Can a tow bar be installed on a 1990 FC Convertible?

i would like to tow a small 15foot boat.

The owners manual even states that these cars are NOT meant for towing. Also, I would like to see you try to pull a boat out of a ramp with an RX-7.

well, rotaries are extremely torquey so it would probably tow pretty good.

Rotaries dont have low end torques.. so try unhooking your boat on a ramp (lake) and i hope to god that your FC dont fall into the water..=)

someone on here did put a tow hook on his fc but it was for towign stuff to the track or for holding his bikes or soemthing. though i WOUNLDNT recomend towing a 15ft boot with a fc.

i saw a pic of an FD with a tow hook...and he would use it to tow a small trailer to tow his track tires..

They do, (or did) make tow bars for the FC. One of the cars I parted out had one on it. It was factory made, receiver style, not a backyard job. Had a hell of a time getting it off, rusty as could be. It may have gone in the lake itself.
