Tornado???????

i am watching a paid program on "NASCAR" channel and they are selling a product called the "Tornado"

it spins the air so that you get a better fuel air mixture. i was wondering what thoughts people have on these because i have seen similar products before. this one they showed a 10% gain on a 200hp car on the dyno.

input anyone??

Justin

you would think that the engineers of automobiles have figuered out how to move the air most efficiently down the intake. I don't believe an aftermarket "tornado" would do any good at all. I saw the infomercal on it and laughed. my 2 penny's

a well promoted waste of money. All race teams would have it if it was that good. no extra air or fuel=no extra power. the better mixing might give a cleaner burn for emisions.

it might help out a piston engine, maybe.

I don't think it would work on a rotary, it's designed to get stuff past the valves quicker. If it really works.
I'm a little skeptical.

On cars with non-tuned intake runners I am sure it would help.

Anything with tuned runners I would doubt any change except worse... Maybe the psychological HP of moding your motor.

HAHAHAHAH!!!

The tech support phone center that I work in is right down the hall from the place where they sell these "Tornado" things...what a joke, they don't work. You should've seen the guy that I was talking to about it. I told him that my father had a Lingenfelter Twin Turbo Corvette Z06, and he was wondering if the Tornado would give it better HP and gas mileage...the sales guy was like, well, it will give him at least 10 HP and at least a 15% increase in gas mileage. I then asked the guy how turning air around helped make any kind of power on a turbo charged vehicle, and he said "The tornado works on any car, turbo charged, super charged, or it even would work on a car running on NOS."

HAHAHA...what a joke.
