S5 is about 240, S4 is about 260. Its literally what the speedo says.

But Styx is right. Usually the tires are only rated for like 200 hahaha.

This is where it's helpful to include a unit of speed...

Anyway, I've done 155mph in my S4 TII on stock size tires and that was under 7500RPM, it might have even been under 7000RPM.

That would be the other way around

S4 and S5 transmissions and final drives are identical, apart from 5th..
S5 has a longer 5th, providing a higher top speed.

I know first hand because i got a chance to buy a brand new S4 gearbox for a hell of a lot less money then rebuilding the S5 tranny. So i checked for differences first.

I love the lowered top speed and it being more responsive in 5th btw

so you were doing 155+ near traffic....~_~

With a S4 TII tran and a S4 TII diff with a 4.1 on 225/45/17, I was pegged at 8000rpm in 5th gear, my Gtech pro was telling me was doing 162 mph. This was on a stock turbo at 14 psi, had plenty of power to go to atleast 170-175mph. If I was on a S5 TII tran, at the same rpm I probably wouldve been at 165mph.

143mph @8k in 4th and about 165@8k in 5th. can push close to 180mph if you go to 9k.

tire diameter also makes a difference as it changes the stock gear ratio to the ground.

I don't care about topspeed, but I've been "cruising" on the autobahn when visiting family at 240-250 KPH. I'm sure I've driven faster, but that's not autobahn cruising anymore since it takes alot of work and time to accelerate at that point. (Stock S5)
