in the 89-91 na and turbo 2 rx7s how fast can u go into each gear before shifting to the next? i know it redlines at 8000. how much more is achieved with an ecu upgrade. just curious and since i dont currently on a 7 yet, otherwise i would find out on my own.

No rx-7s have speed goveners. Thank God. You car will be stop by resistance before gearing or ecu.

The motor cannot take 12K rpms. It can with a few motor mods but not stock. You wont be making any power up there anyways, so dont worry about it.

at 12000 rpm you would not be producing any extra power unless you have a heavy periphrial port... And the engine will not handle that much rpm for very long...
the e-shaft does flex a little the higher the rpm the more flex as you know the more it flexes the more the rotors shift in the housing making it possible for them to break an apex seal... if anybody can give me reasons for the otherwise i would be happy to hear them this is just what i understand it to work.

so drag limited, what do most ppl get top MPH. i got a 90 gxl, but im certain i have a series 4 motor that im currently dropping in. im using S5 everything except for the motor itself. would it be slower the same or faster then the s5 motor (just want to know if the extra hp in the S5 models were motor, or intake designs)

Stock top speed for a S4 n/a is 136mph.

Not alot of power but good aerodynamics.

In my GXL i hit 135MPH on the tach, but i dont kno what that translate to real speed. I kno that when the speed past 100mph the tach is inaccurate.

damn too bad my stock motor had a bad oil seal in the rear rotor. thats why im swappin, but its only temporarily till i get my S5 motor fixed and turboed!! hah yea. so my top speed should be between 135-140mph, atleast thats what the speedometer will read?
