Top 5 Mods For Tii's
Top 5 Mods For Tii's
I saw a thread for top mods for n/a's. So..... I thought it would be good to start a thread for the top 5 mods you've done to improve performance. Go ahead and share your mods!
ps.if you have a step by step(hopefully with pics) process to do the mod, thats also much appreciated

best mod I've done:F-con. improved throttle response, hp, and gave me about 1-2 xtra psi on stock exhaust.
cold air intake(custom location)
ported wastegate on my s5 turbo
lighter wheels with wider tires.(noticeable handling difference!!!!)
custom 2.5 dp to 3'' outlet to 3"midpipe
planning tb mod next

You mean as cost efficient or just plain top mods..? Because in in the NA thread I'd say top mod would be to buy a T2, in this thread I'd say buy a bigger turbo :P
*Edit*
Also, do you mean mods to the engine or the FC in general?
If ya ment cost efficient mods in general, heres my ideas: (From least to greatist importance)
5th: Stripped interior
4th: Non essential components removed, heater/ac/airpump/dtss/etc..
3th: Low turbulence intake/exhaust/ported waistgate
(I consider adding a fuel management system here, since u start messing with the air n fuel ratio here)
2nd: Rebuild engine, self ported using mazdatrix stencils
1st: A tune up and replacement of all the old parts that go bad over 20 years

Edit: I'm glad you've spent 1/13th of your posts on these forums already trash talking. Save the nice cars for people who can appreciate them. Don't buy one.
Had you worded it like that, it would have been more acceptable.

^^ Since when is no heat and AC rice? A lot of cars naturally did not come with AC, so they are inherently rice from the factory?
New hampshire does not get that hot, therefore i have no need for the AC.

-stand alone
-3" exhaust
-bigger turbo
-coilovers
-wheels and nice tires (they count as 1 mod)
bam! 350 whp that can handle
and a blown motor because you don't have enough fuel... but you can fix that after you rebuild.

I think you are a ***** if you need heat.
Wow, that felt good! No, that felt GREAT!
Now that we have all of that out of our systems, let's get serious.
130 amp alternator upgrade-
2-speed e-fan-
Short shifter-

upgraded radiator
cone air filter/ditch the air box
upgrade intercooler
throttle body mod
fuel cut defenser
full exhaust system
thats all i have.. any more and i will need a stand alone ecu setup.
and due to the age, id recommend changing/ upgrading the fuel pump

Notice op only said mods for performance, so you could technically say removing seat belts to reduce weight by 2 lbs and meet the threads outline.
I live in hypothermia weather almost year round, I'd have a camp fire going in my car if it ment staying warm. So, I have kept my heater and insolation. Plus I don't like the look of a stripped interior, kinda defeats the purpose of owning a street car but then again, is this thread for street or track? *shrug*

stand alone with all the fixins including but not limited to wideband egt and datalogging capabilities
dual pass rad
water/oil temp gauge
more efficient turbo including something other than a cast manifold and supporting fuel mods. dont max out your stock injectors duty cycle cause youre cheap you dope.
more efficient intercooler with proper duct work

1. Full REV TII Racing beat exhaust, apexi intake
2. Greddy fmic, bov, koyo rad
3. BNR Stage 2 or 3.
4. Fuel upgrades including rtek
5. Supporting electronics (gauges, boost controller)
I cheated a little bit by putting 2 on 1 mod but there you go a decent build.
This is the plan for me this winter, so far racing beat exhaust is check marked and boost gauge and wideband.

On the S5 I purchased new:
G Force ECU upgrade
FD Fuel Pump
Removed Pre Cat
Bonez Hi Flow Main Cat
Hallman MBC
Rest all factory and Bam-11-12 psi no problems
I actually have the factory main cat back on now as the Bonez went south and still no problem with the 11-12 lbs
