Tools needed to remove a diff
so my diff took a crap on me NA open diff welded, i know the front mount is broke and the diff broke so I may get one at the junk yard..
Now a days i just dont find interest in wrenching under a car all day *i guess im now lazy since i have done all that type of stuff before with prior project cars*.. what typical tools will i need if i try to get one at the junk yard? *Being under a car at the junkyard is dam scary when u see what they use to hold em up*..
also, car is S5 NA, would i need the output shafts if i put a S4 clutch lsd diff?

I think if he goes to a junkyard, he wont need a jack, or jackstands, since the cars will be on large blocks.
The above post is correct, so I'll add to it:
-Unless you have an electric impact gun, bring a breaker bar.
-Bring PB blaster with you also
-Bring a friend or two too if you can, for simplicity's sake, you're gonna remove the subframe + diff together. Having some friends there would make pulling the diff a breeze. Those suckers are pretty heavy, especially when you're holding them up in an awkward position.

thanks
so probably the quickest way to do this is to drop the subbframe and then pull it from the subframe? I guess it sounds pretty straight forward, just looks a little intimdating. we swapped the subframe on my old 240sx, but i had a buddy help me and at the time we where super enthusiestic about doing stuff like that.
im jus soo lazy to do labor intense work now a days since the fc is my only car lol.. just like my old 240sx when id do some engine work to the turbo or something and id have to bum rides accross town while its down lol
