too rich?

i have a stock 90 t2 and it it is very sluggish, i just installed a autometer af gauge today and realized that it is running very rich....does that have anything to do with it?

Like how rich????

And... I don't trust those A/F gauges to tune by... they'll give you a reference, but, i wouldn't trust my motor to one.
