Too much Premix?

I've been premixxing and my mechanic has a friend that does work on rotaries that premixes 2oz for each gallon. So I've been going with 2oz per gallon. I'm now having issues with start up. The first time I had issues I replaced the spark plugs and the car started up just fine.

Now a week and a half later, I'm having start up issues again. The plugs are not old by any means, but I'm starting to think I've been over premixing and it's fouling my plugs. I've read in other places that 1oz per gallon is what's required for those that premix.

Can any verify this?

1oz per gallon is all that is necessary for street use. For dedicated track cars that see high rpm constantly, 2oz per gallon.

Until you get to about 4-5oz per gallon, you most likely wouldn't see any problems.

But meh...fouled plugs? I don't think 1oz per gallon more would do this. I know on my T2, I premixed some 3oz per gallon on 1-2 tanks, and they plugs were perfect after pulling.

Pull the spark plugs...
Test them and watch the spark...
If the spark plugs are fouled, then the spark will be noticably weak.

Why more for high rpm use?

I can see more oil being needed, but... you're putting more in due to higher fuel demands at higher rpm already. So why add even more?
