im completly dissagree with this! if the OMP is so bad why did my motor run 125K miles with it and no pre mix what so ever the only reason i dumped it and went premix is because i broke one of the lines for the oiling system and they are exspensive

Have you seen the inside of a motor that has run only on the OMP? And then compared it to the inside of a motor running on premix only?

When you see this, you will only use premix.

im completly agree with this, of course mazda engineered their engine to last at least, if not more than, 125k miles.

Doesn't make it better than pre-mix, not by a long shot.

God, I hate to extend this mess, but a couple of things:
1) 1 oz. per gallon is a 128:1 ratio, not 100:1
2) in 5 weeks I will be rebuilding my engine, with new rotor housings & seals- I will keep the premix exclusively (that I started 6 months ago), then tear the engine down again after 50,000 miles or so to see what's up with the rotor housings
3) I'm also currently on a quest for a perfect premix ratio, right now it's at 90:1 with no ill effects or smoke. better TOO MUCH than TOO LITTLE lubrication is my mantra
4) will post results of the premix tests- I drive 100 miles a day, so it won't take too long!!!

Before all the stock OMP supporters go bonkers, we did NOT say the stock oil injection system didn't work.

I'm just saying pre-mixing is a superior procedure for internal rotary engine lubrication.

There's a difference.

Random theory:

How hard would it be to modify the mechanical and/or electrical OMPs to pump 2-cycle from a container instead of pumping oil from the crankcase?

wouldn't be hard at all, but why use the questionable delivery system of the OEM oil nozzles? if Mazda would've put two or three nozzle ports instead of only the one in the middle, the rotor housings probably wouldn't look like they do on teardowns. The premix isn't designed to lubricate like that, besides...

lubes the internals. The stock measures that were made to lube the internals was to inject engine oil into the manifolds that would eventually reach the engine seals.

Premix is added to the gas tank and is mixed in with the gas. It is hence injected with the gas witht the stock injectors, instead of the stock oil injectors (which aren't really injectors.. more like drippers)...

The idea is that the engine seals will be better lubed, and provide better protection.

The downside is whenever you fill your car with gas, you must RELIGIOUSLY add the premix, or your engine fails a few hundredish miles later

Per RETed: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/FAQ/premix.html
