on the honda meter 372.658914

no way to know your real numbers unless you dyno'd b4 and after mimicing atmospheric conditions the best u can.

Your money would probably have been better so\pent by performing a proper compression test followed by a through tune-up if the motor was in decent shape.
If the motor was in degraded condition just but the money in the bank to save for a rebuild.

If you motor has good compression, 120-130HP sounds about right.

WOW! another minnesota RX-7 SWEEEETT!!

well let's see, your car has 146hp STOCK, so i'd say around 160-170ish... plus your wieght reductions.. probably put you in the mid 15's too. (your car is like 16.3 stock)

The 89-91's had 160hp Stock...hehe

I have done seriously ever tune up and maintence possible..
But i haven't had time to do a compression test. What is a good range for my compression to be in? I was thinking about getting a rebuild done too, that or a new block. What would be better a total rebuild, with everthing replaced, or a new block? I was also thinking about dropping in one of those cheap J-spec engines, of course with a turbo or maybe just a rebuilt/new turbo II block. all i would need is a haltech and a bigger fuel pump, i already got the TII drivetrain Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Dre2000 and 1Revvin7: Join the club ($25 per year), and come join us on our next Dyno outing. We get group discounts for going together. It's usually around $40-$45 for 2 runs.

And if you are even more umm... frugal than that, I have a G-Tech. We need a strip longer than a 1/4 mile on level ground to use it though. Any ideas?

Take care,

A new engine is better than a rebuild. A J-spec is a cheap solution. I imported a TII fron end form Australia, and got the motor, tranny, and all kinds of spare parts. After selling my current stuff (even a blown motor is worth something) I should come fairly close to breaking even. I plan on using a Wolf 3D V4 to run it.

Another god reason to join the club? We are buying a compression tester as we speak.
