Tires

New to this site but wondering if anyone has had luck finding new performance tires for RX-7's?
Put some new "recommended" ones on last fall and felt like I was driving on ice.

Thanks!

What size? summer only? Lower the tread ware the more they stick. I had firestone indy 500, people love them, 400TW but they did not grab at all, 1st or 2nd. I just got the new Federal RS-Pro, and I LOVE them. THey hook up soo good, and look amazing, as they run a bit wide. They are 200TW. I used to have the rs-rr and I loved those also, but a bit noisy. Seriously Federal 595RS-PRO best bang for your buck tire out there if looking for summer performance.

Running Bridgestone firehawk Indy 500’s on my 06 sti and I love them. Ridiculous deal on anything smaller than 18’s. Got them mounted n balanced for $90 a tire.

Like Dunlop direzza star specs as well.

mean some nankang (I think ns-2’s). They were great when it was dry. When it was raining hard I tried to make a u from a dead stop, and I just understeered forward. Guess that’s the definition of a summer tire......?

185/70R14. I guess the tire companies have cut down on productions of tires that size. REALLY liked the Pirellis we had but, those aren't made that size anymore. Looking for something with stiffer sidewalls again, instead of the touring tires we were sold.

Falkens azenis RT615+ or RT660 has a 14" tire you can use but the size is 195/60 which is a tiny smaller than the original overall diameter.

Thanks but was hoping to stay with original 14" size. If there aren't any 14" ones out there, we might need to re-size!
