i just bought an 1986 GXL. i need new tires. i want good all weather tires but i don't have alot of money ($700 les schwab quoted me) any suggestions would be great (205/60/15)

Discount or Big O are usually the cheapest... Ask about USED tires as well... Sometimes people who buy new wheels have good tires that get re-sold...

 

Also check with Costco if you have a membership.

 

I was just selling a set of Konig wheels and tires with around 90% tread left on them for $300. They where 225/50/16s.....should have hit me up 3 days ago. CJ

 

Thats where I bought mine. They often have a coupon for $60 off if you buy four tires.

As for which brand to buy, check Consumers Reports.

What were you looking at? Toyo TPT's? That's what is on my wife's GTP. Did you ask about their Proxes 4? They are usaully a couple hundred dollars or more cheaper than the Proxes TPT's.

 

i checked costco today they had some new type of michelins(i can't think of the name at the moment) for $446 i'll have to check discount tires now they say that they will beat costco

 

Check out prices on www.tirerack.com then go to discount tire and 90% of the time they will match their price.

 

Dont ever go to Les Schwab. I had them just dismount a tire off one of my rims, and my dad has the same for his Z06 and both rims came back scratched/chipped in many places. When we went back to have them pay for getting them repaired they claimed they didnt do it. Give your business to costco or discount.
