I have a quick question about the stock TII rims... i just bought some for racing and was wanting to know if the Kumho 245/45/16(i think?!) would fit on the front and back??
if not i dont think kuhmo makes less wide ones for the front do they?? keep in mind these are for race only so would they still be aight?

Considering how close they are to the spring perch, I'd say they're the same offset as the Turbo II wheels (40mm). My wheels came off a 96 or so limited edition Camry. They're made by BBS and cost me only $100 for all 4.

Here's what they look like: http://www.geocities.com/go_speed_go/wheels.html

Do you read the previous posts on this thread???&nbsp There is no way you can get a 245 under the stock from fenders on an FC.&nbsp On top of that, 245's on a 7" wide rim is not recommended, ESPECIALLY for racing due to sidewall flex...

yeh i have been readin them but i just figured that since one of my race buddies runs 245 all around that i could too.
So with this "flex" on the side wall it would be better to 225/50/16 all around?!?!

i just figured wider the better....
hmm thanks

On (stock) 7" rims, it is recommended to run 225 wide tires - anything wider will just buldge the sidewalls, and the car will feel like jello due to the sidewall flex.&nbsp Initial turn-in transition and how quick the streering reacts has a lot to do with sidewall flex...

I just bought a set of Koneg Impacts a couple of weeks ago off of a TII that was getting parted out. I think they are 17x7.5...maybe 17x7, not sure. They have 215/45's up front and 235/45's in the rear. I can definately see room for more in the rear. I moved the 235's up front to check clearances and they are maybe 1/4" to 3/8" from the strut assembly and a little more on the fender-side. I could see running 235's up front for street use if you're just cruising, but a nasty bump while you're turning would definately do some fender damage.

The 215's in the front are perfect, and I could really use another 1/2" of rim and tire out back to have the same fender overhang as the front.

I'll have to agree with the rest of the guys here, 225/235 looks like the limit up front, unless you are just a cruiser and take it easy.

what offsets will keep the wheel even with the fenders using:

front-
215/45-17 on a 17x7

back-
245/40-17 on a 17x8

i'm guessing i will need a different offset in the front and back but that is not a problem.

A friend of mine runs a Discount Tire here in Arlington and he test fitted several sizes on my car and 225/50r16,17,18 is all thats gonna fit due to the strut (coilovers cant help the clearance issue). The only solution to wider tires is a fender kit, rolling the fender, or relocating the strut farther inward.

Also 245 is as wide as you can go in the back on stock rims. Removing the Muffler shields opens up lots of space for maybe a 275 even but definatly only on aftermarket rims

Listen to Ted ya'll he is full of good advice. He hasnt steered me wrong yet

Thanks Ted

ARDT2 (Rishie) said this was the best setup for widest tires on a FC or soemthing along those lines
Front: 17"x8" 225/45 +38 Rear: 17"x9.5" 255/40 +35
