Question Timing Question???

I went to time my car today i used the fsm and went step by step warmed car up grounded check connector. Hooked timing light up to L1 its dead on at degrees ATDC...then i hooked to T1 and dialed my timing light to 20 degrees...to my suprise its off i dialed down the timing light to see what the trailing is actually firing at and it is right around 5 degrees like the leading is. Yes, i double checked i was on the right wires and i know that the yellow on the pulley is the leading and the trailing should be red. What my question is how would you adjust trailing timing??? Or does the ecm control this, or maybe something might be wrong with one of the sensors??? Anyone, please help me figure this out. Stock car with no mods 91n/a.

Leave light on zero and check the timing on leading/trailing plugs. If, as you say they are both firing the same, the leading and trailing will be on the same mark yellow. Give it a try.

At the yellow mark, it will line up with L1 with the timing gun set at 0.
At the red mark, it will line up with T1, with the timing gun set at 0.

This ONLY works if your idle is lower than ~950.

He's saying to set the TIMING LIGHT to zero, then set the L1 to yellow, then the trailing will line up with the red mark

The red mark represents 20 deg, just to make things clear.
