Unhappy timing help plz,,pic inside

this is how the shaft and pulley posiition be , before i stab cas? would this possition be perfect for s5 motor. i plan to set it right tommorow and then adjust it with a gun.

im not talking about cas, im talking about pulley possition and pulley marks

The pulley should only fit one way Line the pulley on the first mark and stab CAS . be sure the trigger wheel doesn't rotate as you stab it, (why I sent the pic)

what kind of pulley are yo using cause if it is an RB pulley there are lines you can set it at.
0,-10, and -20 degress

when shaft key is at 9 oclock ,tds, then yellow mark on pulley should line up with pointer on front cover right??? i just want to get that right because my pulley marks r messed up.

the cas shown in the pic should be stabed at that possition only when the shaft is in tds right???

kevin aka Rotary Resurrection gave you a method for finding the leading mark on the pulley in your other thread, follow his instructions to find the mark.

honestly, there is a fsm or you could buy a haynes manual, both clearly show how to set the timing.
I have no idea how you got that idea on how to set the timing.
On the front cover there is a pointer where you align the mark on the pulley to. then you restab the crank angle sensor. Fire it up, let it warm up, adjust the timing and then reset the ecu.

he is referring to a mismatched front hub/front timing pulley. they are matched pairs so if you mix them up then the timing marks will be off, sometimes a significant amount.

now i don't see why he made another thread when the method was already explained in a previous thread by this poster.
