Probably an FCD. I have also seen an odd "anti-flood" module installed in the same spot...Does it have any writing on it?

ya when i get home ill write it all down then put it up here. The bracket that holds the ecu down, seems to have been made to hold this also.

Bump,

did anyone find out what this part does in the end? I dont think anyone has it right yet. It has the mitsubishi logo on it so it is likely to be original equiptment.

Maybe NYT or some of the other FC guru's might have an idea...

thanks

It's just a relay. :P
It's stock.
It's not aftermarket.

You're not the first person to ask this question. There was a thread a while ago about that black box and nobody could figure it out then. It was opened up, it's not a relay.

Theres no way its anything to do with a nightsports chip or nightsports whatsoever. as I said above, the plastic case has the mitsi logo on the top, and it is a stock item I have seen on several JDM S5's

I'm sure someone will know, just a matter of finding the right rotaholic
