tilt steering wheel vs. non tilt

i got ahold of my 90 gtu parts car and i was looking at differences between my 91 coupe and the 90, the gtu doesnt have tilt steering but my 91 does, i thought someone said a long time ago that the non tilt is lighter. im 6'1 and have found absolutly no use for the tilt steering wheel, anyone have any ideas. im basicly trying to lighten up my 91 for when i get my engine and tranny work done i could have a decently 'quick' na.

OK, if you swapped them you would loose about... ohhh say 1 pound tops!

It's not worth changing, it's not gonna make your car "made quick yo"...

LOL

If I get a non tilt wheel I'll weigh it, I have a tilt, WITH the pedal cluster attached, and it's not that heavy. It's made out of like 10-14 guage steel, and not that much of it. I seriously dought there is more than 2-4 lb. difference.

It's really not worther even considering to swap. I promise you won't notice ANY differnce in speed/handling.

ahh good point, i didnt have time to look at the two up close. like i said i had read that there was a differenece on this forum on some post about how to make a fast na.

btw if i wanted to make my car mad quick yo...i wouldnt of continued with na rx7's, you will notice ive had 5 rx7's all na, never wrecked one, only killed one engine and im only 21 years old im not your typical 16 yr old looking to make their 18 yr old 86' base model fast. i choose these cars because i love them not because i want to be fast. it is my goal to make a light, reliable, not too loud n/a.

Homer: [suspicious] Hey, what are all these holes?

Salesman: [quickly] These are speed holes. They make the car go faster.

Homer: Oh, yeah. Speed holes!

you should remove all things that make sense
like the motor and all the interior to save weight.
