TII swap question (not same old question)
I've started my TII swap into my '86 GXL, I'm going to post this in the N/A section as well. I'm going to be running a S4 13BT engine, TII transmission, custom driveshaft to my n/a rearend, most likely an E6k (maybe a LT-8). My question is regarding the chassis (driver's side) harness being compatible with the TII components. I've read that the connection for the pressure sensor and such is different (won't be using that though with the EMS) as well as the alternator connector is different. Will I run into any problems here, can't I just use my n/a alternator so it plugs in with my n/a harness or even just wire in the TII connector if I use the TII alternator? I REALLY dont want to swap that harness!!
My other question is regarding fuel...I'm going to be running a Walbro 255lph fuel pump, I've read something about the TII fuel resistor being different than the n/a one, will I run into any problems using the Walbro and not changing anything else?
Thanks alot for any help!!!

The n/a tranny isn't near strong enough as said above...

indeed I have, according to Scott's website, N/A's don't have the lowered voltage, however I've also heard that s5's in general lower the voltage at idle/cruise, personally, I just said to hell with it and wired it according to scott's webpage, (http://www.1300cc.com), and it see's 12-13 volts constantly.

All FC's except the S4 NA's use the resistor/relay to lower fuel pump voltage at low load. However if you're not using the stock ECU the resistor/relay is not required. Wire direct to the pump via a relay as per the instructions of whichever ECU you use.

Stop worrying. I put a 87turboii in my 87n/t car. I kept the original harness's. The fuel pump.....no rework is needed. The 86 sees 12 all day long. That's what you want. YOu don't want or need the solenoid that kicks it down to 9v approx when not in boost conditions. So stop worrying.
You will need to buy a 87 boost controll box. Its located in the passengers side, in the area above and to the right of the passengers feet. The car will run just dandy without it, but you should think about adding it. You just have to string four simple wires. One ground to it, one 12v source of power, one to the knock sensor on the left side of the engine, and one to the ECU. Big deal.
The alternator plug should fit if its a 87 into a 86. NO problem at all.
And the pressure sensor connector is the same. Its the guts of the turbo sensor that is different, but then again you said you were'nt going to uses it anyway.
The most expensive thing is buying a downpipe and presilencer for the conversion, and that's not much, maybe 250 or so from Mazdatrix/RacingBeat/Rotary Performance/ local shop.
You WILL need the turboii transmission mount. Your n/t mount will NOT work on a turbo transmission. Also Mazdatrix will sell you a driveshaft for the conversion all day long.
Some make a big deal about needing a turboii brake booster check valve. Nonsense. All brake boosters have a check valve, including your 86. You just need to find a hose to reach from the back of the throttle body to the original brake booster pipe. What? A buck fifty?
To stay emission leagal you need to think about other things not mentioned.
